Having a look at Paris Fashion Week’s runway garments, there were some beautiful and totally wearable pieces – and then there were some that not only hurdled over the line of OTT but sat quite comfortably within the realm of “costumey” (in the words of Michael Kors).
As you may know, I have never understood ugly fashion. How are unflattering, baggy jumpers, Medieval hats and Star Wars jumpsuits “on trend”? At the end of the day, the outfits on the runway are meant to be bought. Profits need to be made. How is this possible when they send models that look like Big Foot down the runway? UGLY DOES NOT EQUAL FASHION.
I find it so ironic that when clothes are seen at a fashion show, it’s “Ah-mazing” or “perfectly de-constructed”, but when worn by a celebrity, it shoots straight to Fashion Police and gets a ‘frumpy’ rating from Joan Rivers.
Sorry for the rant.
Here are the best and worst of Paris Fashion Week.
